I adopted Reggie (cat) February 2025. It broke my heart reading that she came in as a kitten with her kittens and I wanted to give her a good, safe home. After a tense meet and greet (she stayed huddled up in the back of the cat carrier hissing at me!) I absolutely decided to take her home. She stayed hidden under the bed for three weeks, only coming out under the cover of darkness to have a bite to eat and use the litter tray. I was taking my other cat into the room to play, and occasionally a paw would come out from under the bed to swipe at the toy. Ever so slowly she started to come out to play more and more, until one night I woke up and she was sleeping on the foot of the bed! She was so nervous for weeks, still often diving under the bed for hours at a time.
Now, a year later she is a happy, plump, purring, chatty cat. She runs to greet me when I get home, absolutely adores her food and loves a good hard face and ear scratch. She now spends her days soaking in the sunshine, running on the cat wheel and playing with her ‘sister’, Quinn. She is so content and happy (and maybe a little chonky). I love her so much, and I’m so glad I adopted her! She’s even the poster cat for ARRG! ❤️
