SUGAR, 2 year old female Ginger & White DSH

Sugar's approximate d.o.b. is 1 April 2017, but she's no-one's fool. Sugar found herself pregnant and caught in the flames of a cane fire, but she managed to survive! Then she made her way to the nearby farmhouse for help. Sugar was taken to a Casino vet where she was monitored before being handed over to the Richmond Valley Council Companion Animals Education Officer, Louise. She was then handed over to ARRG but before arriving gave birth to her kittens. Her two surviving kittens, Candy & Fudge, have gone to their new homes. It is wonderful that they have been adopted together as two cats provide company for each other when humans are absent. Sugar is little more than a kitten herself, but she is shy at first, however it won't take much to bring out her playful side. If you are interested in meeting Sugar, she can now be viewed by appointment at the ARRG Centre. However don't expect her to be instantly affectionate. But if you decide to give her a chance, (we offer a two week trial period) once in a QUIET home environment, she will come out of her shell. Sugar's current neighbour at the Centre is FANG (2109) and they have become quite friendly. So much so that we are offering a 'two for the price of one' deal for anyone interested in giving them both a Furever Home. Sugar has been an amazing mum, and has even been wet nurse to a number of different kittens of varying ages. However her work is done and she is now ready to go to her Furever Home. Once Sugar overcame her initial fears after the trauma of the fire, she quickly settled in to her foster home, where she showed herself to be very affectionate. She also showed herself to be amenable to the presence of the other household cats while in her foster home, not showing aggression even with babies to protect. She is also comfortable with the presence of other cats since she moved into the Centre. In the parlance of Jackson Galaxy, she seems to be a 'ground dweller', but this may change by the time of her adoption. Her fire wounds have healed beautifully, but she'll always have a reminder of her near-death experience with the loss of the tops of her ears. Please consider donating to ARRG so that we can continue to help the animals of our community like Sugar, or remember us in your will.
